After many years in public relations, advertising, and marketing, Blythe Gifford stopped sublimating and returned to her first love, writing historical novels. Her latest book, THE HARLOT´S DAUGHTER, was released in October 2007 from Harlequin Historicals. It was inspired by a real person, the illegitimate daughter of an English king and his notorious mistress.
"Grab your copy today and prepare to be amazed," said Loveromancesandmore.com. The Chicago Tribune called it "the perfect balance between history and romance. . .a fascinating setting and beautifully nuanced characters." The book got 4 ½ star reviews from Cataromance.com, Wantzuponatime.com, and RomanceJunkies.com, which called it "a refreshing return to the true essence of historical romance."
Booklist called her first novel, THE KNAVE AND THE MAIDEN, "wonderfully romantic" and All About Romance named it a "Buried Treasure" of the year. THE KNAVE AND THE MAIDEN, Golden Heart finalist, was a double finalist in First Coast Romance Writers´ Beacon Contest, taking second in the Best First Book category and third in Best Historical. It has been released in Italy, France, Brazil, and the United Kingdom.
A past president of Chicago North RWA, she also juggles marketing consulting and freelance writing careers and has given several online courses and spoken at numerous RWA Conferences, including the National Conference.
Now writing another medieval story, she always remembers that to her characters, it wasn´t history. It was life.
